On My Current Work: I'm reaching for the
spiritual experience of the landscape. The landscape in its purest
form --of simplicity and complexity,as it is, and as it was,
undisturbed and uninterrupted by man. I find myself drawn ever closer
to the structure and simplicity of the landscape. I continue to look to
simplify my approach --both in what I see, and what I choose to capture in
paint -- while at the same time, to reach for more complex challenges
in terms of scale and composition, content and emotion.”
